Harvested in the deeper regions of the surf zone, 4 to 8 metres, the Storm Clam has a distinctive angular shell.  The Storm Clam is ideal for use in single serves on the half shell or alone as meat and tongue.

The body has a deep, robust sea kelp aroma and an intense shellfish flavour, reminiscent of sea urchin and crayfish. The tongue has the texture of fresh calamari, the body has a deep, full texture with a firm bite when cooked.

Preparation:  The Storm Shell Clams are great for a broad range of preparations.  They can be eaten raw or quickly warmed and served with your favourite sauce or a dressing.

Availability: Available year round. Please allow up to 2 days notice prior to when you are wanting delivery as they need to be harvested.

Shelf life: Best consumed on arrival or within 5 days from receiving product, discard any that are open.

Fish for your health: Clams are a lean source of protein, are rich in minerals, vitamins, and Omega- 3 fatty acids.

Suggested wines: For simple steamed clams, try a Sauvignon Blanc or a dry Rosé. For clams in cream sauce, try a mid-range white Burgundy or a medium-oaked Chardonnay. Clams in tomato sauce require an acidic Sauvignon Blanc.
