New Zealand Cockles have plump round shells with fine ridges that run in two directions. They are usually purple on the inside. Cockles dig a shallow burrow into the seabed, and are harvested year-round.
Availability: Available year-round.
Shelf life: Best consumed on arrival or within 3 days from receiving product, discard any that are open.
