Product Description

Harvested from the 3 to 5 metre surf zone, the Diamond Shell is naturally full of plump meat.  The Diamond Shell clam has a beige coloured shell with a rich, deep coloured meat and white tongue. 

Preparation:  With a mild, sweet ocean flavour and a crisp texture, the Diamond Shell is great for a broad range of preparations.  They can be eaten raw or quickly warmed and served with your favourite sauce or a dressing.

Availability: All year round

Shelf life: Best consumed on arrival or within 3 days of receival.

Fish for your health: Clams are a lean source of protein, are rich in minerals, vitamins, and Omega- 3 fatty acids.

Suggested wines: For simple steamed clams, try a Sauvignon Blanc or a dry Rosé. For clams in cream sauce, try a mid-range white Burgundy or a medium-oaked Chardonnay. Clams in tomato sauce require an acidic Sauvignon Blanc.
