New Zealand Trevally is frequently found in large school in the coastal waters of the North Island and Upper South Island.

Trevally fillets have a distinctive marbled pink appearance and a medium to soft texture. The flesh has a low oil content and a rich flavour. 

It is very popular to enjoy raw as sashimi or ceviche, cooked traditionally by baking, frying, poaching, and is fantastic smoked.

 

 

Preparation:  Trevally can be baked, curried, marinated, steamed, poached, smoked or fried.

Availability: Available year round subject to catch.

Shelf life: Best consumed on arrival or within 3 days from receiving product.
