Prawns are shrimp-like crustaceans, that are usually farmed commercially. They are distinguished from shrimp by the gill structure which is branching in prawns.

Preparation: Thawing - cover and refrigerate overnight until thawed. Keep refrigerated until used. Must be cooked through prior to consumption. Add frozen or thawed prawns to salted lightly boiling water for 3 minutes or until cooked through and serve hot or quickly chill for use in your recipe.
