Soft Shell Crabs have bright white flesh that is crisp and moist. Most commonly found in shallow water on sandy beaches, soft shell crabs are caught with baited traps or pots.

Cooking Method: Soft Shell Crab are normally deep fried whole, and eaten whole. Before deep frying lightly dust in potato starch, rice flour or plain flour.

Suggested wines: Most white wine varieties are well suited to crab. Try a fruity Chardonnay, herbaceous semillon, or a light sauvignon blanc or pinot gris.
